Message from the Pastor -

This message is to keep all of you up to date on the events concerning the new pastor and my departure.  As most of you know, the vote was taken yesterday morning by the church as to whether or not to call Brother Jim Byrd to be the new pastor of 13th St. Bap. Church.  The vote was overwhelmingly in favor of Brother Byrd 97.7% voted YES to make it official and call him as pastor.  Brother Byrd was informed of this yesterday afternoon, and he has graciously accepted this call to be the new pastor.  He has also indicated that he would begin officially on November 1 of this year.  That being the case, I will officially end my tenure as pastor here at the end of this month of August so that August 31 will be my last day as pastor.  I will begin my ministry in Albany in September.

Elder Ron Trabandt and the other men have devised a preaching schedule for the months of September and October to fill the pulpit here until Brother Byrd begins.  I urge you to support them with your prayers and attendance.  I will be part of that preaching schedule as I will be travelling back and forth from Albany to Ashland in preparation for our move and to vacate the parsonage so that it can be prepared for the new pastor and his wife.  I will be visiting here as often as I can to keep in touch with my church family and my earthly family here in Ashland.  Please pray for me as I pray for all of you.  Thank you for your prayers, love, and support over these past 11 years.

We preach ...     To the one God of Heaven and earth, in the Trinity of His sacred persons, be all honor and glory. To the glorious Father, the covenant God; to the gracious Son, the Redeemer of His People; to the Holy Spirit, the author of sanctification; be everlasting praise for that gospel of the free grace of God.
